PBA: Almazan almost ready to rock and roll for Meralco
Head coach Norman Black bared that Almazan, acquired via trade from Rain or Shine for a pair of first round picks, should be available next week as the Bolts take on Phoenix in the mid-season joust.

Raymond Almazan is very close to finally debuting for the Meralco Bolts.

As in next game in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup close.

Head coach Norman Black bared that Almazan, acquired via trade from Rain or Shine for a pair of first round picks, should be available next week as the Bolts take on Phoenix in the mid-season joust.

Almazan missed a fourth straight game for Meralco Friday, a Bolts win over ROS actually.

“Hopefully, next week, against Phoenix on Friday, Raymond will be able to play already,” Black said.

“He actually could’ve played today but he was off for eight weeks and he only had two days of practice,” he added.

Almazan missed a bulk of Rain or Shine’s All-Filipino campaiign due to nagging ankle injuries.

He joined Meralco a few days before the Commissioner’s Cup opened after the trade from ROS, the team that drafted him into the PBA.

“I didn’t want to risk it, possibly having him injured again because he’s not really in shape,” Black said of Almazan.

“Instead I decided to give him a week to get in shape in time for the Phoenix game,” he added.
