Calvin Abueva gets a hefty fine and suspension from the PBA following his crazy weekend full on controversy.
The PBA has dropped the hammer on Calvin Abueva following a weekend of controversy for the Phoenix star.
As the Fuel Masters opened the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup with a win against Blackwater Friday, Abueva was involved in an incident with the girlfriend of Elite rookie Ray Parks.
Abueva called Parks’ girlfriend Maika Reyes a “b****” and made lewd gestures towards her after fouling out. Calvin argues that Parks’ girlfriend cursed at him first.
Then on Sunday in Antipolo, Abueva went after Terrence Jones and viciously clotheslined the TNT import.
That happened just a play after Calvin knocked Jones down and Terrence allegedley hit Abueva in a groin area as he got up from the floor.
For all of that, Abueva was fined a total of P70,000. His clothesline on Jones cost him P50,000.
Calvin likewise received a separate P20,000 fine from Phoenix for the incident involving Parks’ girlfriend.
On top of everything, PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial has suspended Abueva indefinitely as he, “can no longer allow Abueva to continue with his offensive and obnoxious on-court behavior against the fans and his fellow players, which the fiery player is known for.”
Phoenix is 1-1 in the mid-season joust so far.
