PBA: Wild weekend draws over P250,000 in fines
Curses, alleged racial slurs, lewd gestures, alleged intentional groin hits, clotheslines, and lots and lots of ejections marred a weekend of action. At the center of it all was Phoenix’s enigmatic star forward in Calvin Abueva.

Yep, things went a little crazy last weekend in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

At the center of it all was Phoenix’s enigmatic star forward in Calvin Abueva.

Curses, alleged racial slurs, lewd gestures, alleged intentional groin hits, clotheslines, and lots and lots of ejections marred a weekend of action.

And again, at the spotlight was Calvin Abueva, who is now indefinitely suspended by the PBA for a number of reasons.

Still, Abueva wasn’t the only one penalized and here’s the full list of sanctions handed out by the PBA:

 

PHOENIX
Jason Perkins - P1,000 for verbal altercation
Rob Dozier - P1,000 for second motion
Alex Mallari - P5,000 for flagrant foul penalty 1
Coach Louie Alas - P40,000 + two-game suspension for flagrant misconduct and for issuing statement detrimental to the league


TNT
Jayson Castro - P1,000 for verbal altercation
Don Trollano - P5,000 for flagrant foul penalty 1
David Semerad - P20,000 for fighting stance
Anthony Semerad - P20,000 for fighting stance
Team manager Miguel Fernandez - P10,000 for approaching the technical table
Consultant Mark Dickel - P21,000 for disrepectfully addressing an official and for throwing the ball at an official
Terrence Jones - P70,000 for hitting Calvin Abueva in the groin area and for contacting referee Joel Baldago


Total fines: P264,000
