PBA: Jones on Ginebra: “I hope a lot of fans come”
“Well then, I hope a lot of fans come,” Jones said when told of the fact that Ginebra is the single most popular team in the country.

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal — Terrence Jones has been a beast so far in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Saturday at the Ynares Center here, Jones arguably played his best all-around effort for TNT, leading the KaTropa to a big win over five-time Philippine Cup champion San Miguel Beer.

Jones got buckets and finished with 30 points. He also had 18 rebounds, four assists, and five blocks.

It was an incredible effort especially since it was his first game after getting clotheslined by Phoenix’s Calvin Abueva at the same venue just less than a week prior.

“I’m good, man. We wanted to come in here tonight and just keep it strictly about basketball,” Jones said.

“We don’t want nobody to dwell on that game and just wanted to come in this game tonight, stay focused and wanted to make sure we played as a team tonight,” he added.

After getting past Phoenix and San Miguel, Jones and the KaTropa get another test Wednesday.

TNT will put its near-perfect 4-1 slate on the line against Justin Brownlee and the defending champion Brgy. Ginebra Gin Kings.

“Well then, I hope a lot of fans come,” Jones said when told of the fact that Ginebra is the single most popular team in the country.

“I think a lot of fans have been showing me a lot of love since I’ve been here, supporting me. You know I’m just having fun, man. It’s been a lot of fun each game, even with the [Abueva] incident. You know, my teammates have been showing me love and respect. We’ve been having fun in practice, in the games… we’re excited for Wednesday,” he added.
