(PBA)
ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal — Vic Manuel is supposed to be on a minutes restriction as he works his back from injury for the Alaska Aces.
However, two games into his return, Manuel saw extended time on the floor Sunday in the Commissioner’s Cup as Alaska took on Meralco at the Ynares Center here.
Manuel played 24 and a half minutes, more than double compared to his first game back against Magnolia earlier in the week.
He scored 17 points to go along with six rebounds and two steals in the win over Meralco.
Alaska kinda needed him to play those minutes so Manuel wasn’t complaining at all. Plus, he missed playing so much that he just embraced all the playing time given to him against the Bolts.
“Okay naman, sobrang na-miss ko maglaro. Kaso parang sumobra ata minutes ko ngayon eh,” Manuel said.
Naturally, there’s concern regarding Manuel’s conditioning since he played semi-heavy minutes this soon.
But Manuel says he’s fine and is just in the process of getting his timing back.
