Rain or Shine’s young guns are starting to get it going in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
In the Elasto Painters’ first win over defending champion Ginebra, it was Rey Nambatac that shot the lights out.
Sunday in the follow up win over Phoenix, rookie Javee Mocon that did his thing, backing up import Denzel Bowles with a solid 15 points.
“For the first two games ko panget talaga eh. Talagang pinupush nila ako,” Mocon said.
“Siguro we just got our rhythm back. We won against Ginebra, that’s a strong team. Tapos na-boost na yung confidence namin going into this game,” he added.
While ROS now has back-to-back wins, there’s still more to fix moving forward.
Against the Fuel Masters, head coach Caloy Garcia didn’t particularly like how they played despite the win.
“Ugly win siya eh, daming turnovers. We could’ve… laki sana yung lamang namin,” Mocon said.
“Mga fastbreaks namin, little things—we have to work on all of that. In-address naman samin ni coach yung mga dapat naming gawin. And alam naman namin [yung mga] yon eh. Kitang-kita naman sa game,” he added.
