PBA: Batang Pier hold things down while Pringle heals
Northport’s star guard missed another game Wednesday in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup against Magnolia, which now counts as his fourth missed assignment in six games.

Stanley Pringle continues to be day-to-day as he works his way back from surgery to remove bone spurs in his foot.

Northport’s star guard missed another game Wednesday in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup against Magnolia, which now counts as his fourth missed assignment in six games.

Still, the Batang Pier are doing a good job of holding things down with Pringle out as Northport managed to hold on to win over the Hotshots.

At 5-1, Northport is now in its franchise-best start and currently in a three-way tie for first place for the conference.

“Everyone’s stepping up big. I think again tonight we had more than five guys in double figures, so it’s a balanced scoring attack,” forward Sean Anthony said.

“So to see everyone with a balanced attack, everyone touching the ball, it makes the game so much easier because you just make the right play and find the right guy,” he added.

The Batang Pier are playing well now as it is but with Pringle set to return anytime soon, the team certainly have the potential to make a huge leap.

In Pringle’s first full game this conference, he actually still led the Batang Pier in scoring and Northport scored a huge win over TNT.

However, Northport is out to make sure that Stanley regains all of his strength. For the meantime, the Batang Pier will continue to hold things down as they wait for their no. 1 weapon.

“Stanley’s the most explosive scorer in the league and a huge part of our team. Of course when he’s back, he’s gonna make us better, “Anthony said.

“We just want him to get to 100 percent. We don’t want him to come back early and aggravate [his injury]. We’re just telling him to take his time to fully recover and whenever he’s ready, we’re ready. He’s gonna take us even further,” he added.
