PBA: LA admits to hitting back at Jones: “Tinapik ko lang naman eh”

“Tinapik ko lang naman eh. I take full responsibility,” — LA Tenorio on Terrence Jones.
Terrence Jones still can’t escape supposed cheap shots and flagrant fouls.
Against Ginebra in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Wednesday, Jones was forced to sit out in the second half after he was called with a flagrant foul penalty 1 for a swipe at guard LA Tenorio.
After LA pretty much beat Jones off the dribble, the towering TNT import reached out and grabbed Tenorio by the shoulders, causing the Ginebra guard to get knocked down.
Jones was forced to sit for three basketball minutes after that.
In the play before the incident, Jones complained about a no-call after he got hit in the gut by Tenorio. However, LA says it was Terrence that hit him first.
“Ako bumawi, actually mahina lang naman. Aaminin ko naman kung nakita nila eh, aaminin ko naman eh di ba,” Tenorio said.
“Tinapik ko lang naman eh. I take full responsibility,” he added.
With the exception of the Jones-Tenorio minor incident, the TNT-Ginebra game went relatively smoothly actually.
It’s unclear when Jones allegedly hit Tenorio but LA says it might be in the third period and he hopes that game officials can catch it during review.
“Ang ganda ng laro eh. Nagulat lang ako kasi one time, parang ewan ko, parang pababa ako sa transition biglang sinikmuraan din niya ako eh. I don’t know if you see that. It was during the third quarter. And I told some of his teammates kung anong ginawa niya sakin. So yun, kung anong ma-review ng PBA, I’m willing to parang say my piece also,” Tenorio said.
“Kung ano man ang ma-review ng PBA, let’s see. I’m willing to take full responsibility pero sana tingnan din nila kung ano yung ginawa niya sakin bago ko gawin yun,” he added.
