PBA: There’s always a Plan B for NLEX

It’s only a matter of time before the Road Warriors feature a three-headed monster up front with Kiefer Ravena, Kevin Alas, and the recently-acquired Jericho Cruz.
NLEX is last in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup so far with a winless 0-6 record.
Nothing has gone right for the Road Warriors in the mid-season joust and the team is practically on the brink of elimination.
However, all is not lost for NLEX.
The team has put together quite a backcourt now and it’s only a matter of time before the Road Warriors feature a three-headed monster up front with Kiefer Ravena, Kevin Alas, and the recently-acquired Jericho Cruz.
They just have to be patient about it.
“I feel whatever happens, we should be playing better in the third conference kung nandoon na si Kiefer, Kevin, and si Jericho, magkakasama na sila,” head coach Yeng Guiao said.
Ravena will start practicing with the team on June 24 as his FIBA suspension comes to an end.
Cruz should only get more comfortable in the NLEX system as he spends more time with the team following his trade from TNT.
Alas is the wildcard as he continues to rehab from a second torn ACL injury but there’s n reason to doubt his eventual return to action.
For now, the first priority for NLEX is to try and win as many games as possible in the Commissioner’s Cup.
If that falls through, there’s always a backup plan.
“Plan A is to win as many as we can and see where that takes us,” Guiao said.
“Kung mapapaaga yung vacation namin, we can also bring in the imports earlier for the preparation [in the Governors’ Cup] That's our plan B,” he added.
