PBA: Even as a Gin King, Stanley part of Northport family
The deal marked the end of Pringle’s time as a Batang Pier. Northport used its first pick in the 2014 Draft to take Pringle.

In a blockbuster move, Northport has let go of star scorer Stanley Pringle.

Dealing with Ginebra for a mega trade, the Batang Pier sent Pringle to the Gin Kings for Kevin Ferrer, Jervy Cruz, and Sol Mercado.

The deal marked the end of Pringle’s time as a Batang Pier. Northport used its first pick in the 2014 Draft to take Pringle.

Even while he’s no longer in Northport, once a Batang Pier is always a Batang Pier.

Stanley watched his former team play Wednesday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup. Northport pulled off a 25-point comeback against Rain or Shine to win in OT.

“Alam mo naman ang puso nun din sa amin, mahal na mahal din kami nun,” head coach Pido Jarencio said of Pringle.

“Basta ako I’m thinking of the positives, sabi ko sa kanya, basta positive lang tayo Stan. Para sayo, para sa team natin. Basta importante naging part ka ng team, naging part ka ng players, sa puso nila, kaming coaches,” he added.

For Jarencio, Pringle will always be part of the Northport family.

Stanley just changed his jersey and moved to a new practice court.

“Magka-hiwalay man tayo ng pinagta-trabahuhan, pero magka-kaibigan tayo, yun naman ang importante,” Jarencio said.

“Hindi naman puro trabaho, basta importante, ito change of venue muna kami ng practice. Dito kami sa Greenmeadows, sa Upper Deck muna sya,” he added.
