PBA: Northport starts life without Pringle in Comm’s Cup

Northport will quickly start its post-Stanley Pringle era Wednesday in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

A day after essentially trading away Pringle to defending champion Brgy. Ginebra for a haul of role players, the Batang Pier will take on Rain or Shine as the mid-season joust continues at the MOA Arena.

Without Pringle for most of the Commissioner’s Cup, who’s day-to-day following surgery to remove bone spurs, Northport has zoomed to a franchise-best 5-1 start in the conference, which is good for solo second place halfway through the elimination round.

The Batang Pier go for a tie for first once again vs. ROS in the main 4:30 p.m. game in Pasay. The Elasto Painters are on a two-game streak and have recovered from a winless start to post an even 2-2 mark.

In the second game at 7:00 p.m., Meralco (3-4) battles sister team NLEX (0-6).
