McKay averaged almost 23.8 points, 17.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.1 steals, and 2.1 blocks for the Fuel Masters two years ago.

Blackwater's dream run int he 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup has taken a step back after the team missed the services of its "perfect" import Alex Stepheson.

Stepheson had to fly back to the United States last week to have a developing stomach ailment checked out by his personal doctor.

The All-Filipino Elite then got smacked by San Miguel Beer, pulling the team's record down to 5-2 in the mid-season joust.

Blackwater's Commissioner's Cup campaign continues without Stepheson as the Elite have another game starting Saturday against no. 1 Northport.

While the team is hopeful for an eventual return by Stepheson, Blackwater has opted to go with import Jameel McKay for the meantime.

Team manager Patrick Aquino confirmed the development to ABS-CBN Sports that McKay, who played for Phoenix in the 2017 Commissioner's Cup, is Blackwater's replacement import.
