PBA: Ferrer just loves Pido: “Hindi ako iiwan sa ere niyan“
Reuniting with Jarencio for the first time since their UST days, Ferrer admits missing playing for coach Pido.

Safe to say, Kevin Ferrer enjoys playing for Pido Jarencio.

In his first game with Northport following a blockbuster trade earlier in the week, Ferrer was unleashed, leading the Batang Pier in scoring during a big win over Blackwater in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Saturday.

Ferrer drilled five triples for a team-high 23 points, 19 of them in the fourth quarter. He also had five rebounds and six assists.

“I think bonus na lang sa akin. Binigyan ako ng tiwala ng mga teamates ko and lalong lalo na si coach Pido,” Ferrer said.

“First training pa lang, kinausap na ako ni coach Pido na dito raw, running game kami and laruin ko lang yung laro ko. Kung open, tira mo, wala namang magagalit eh. Basta libre, tira,” he added.

Now that they’re finally together in the PBA, Ferrer is ready to give it his all for coach Pido, just like the old times.

“Masarap kasi na-miss ko yung pagiging player ni coach Pido,” he said.

“College, parang tatay ko na yan. Alam kong hindi ako iiwan sa ere niyan basta-basta kaya bigay hundred percent ako para sa kaniya,” Ferrer added.
