The Batang Pier got big games from new guys Jervy Cruz, Sol Mercado, and Kevin Ferrer as they once again force a tie for first place with idle TNT.

Northport continues to roll in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Fielding a more complete team this time, the Batang Pier made quick work of Blackwater Saturday at the Cuneta Astrodome, taking a 127-99 win.

Finally playing with its impressive haul from the Stanley Pringle to Ginebra trade, Northport led by as many as 36 on its way to demolishing the Elite, picking up its seventh win in eight games for the mid-season joust.

The Batang Pier got big games from new guys Jervy Cruz, Sol Mercado, and Kevin Ferrer as they once again force a tie for first place with idle TNT.

“Sabi ko sa inyo makakatulong yung tatlo,” head coach Pido Jarencio said.

“Kahit walang import yung kalaban, tumulong taltlo, gumanda rotation namin,” he added.

Ferrer led the Batang Pier in scoring, dropping 19 points in the fourth on his way to 23 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Jervy Cruz had a 16-point, 11 rebound double double while Sol Mercado finished with 14 points. For good measure, Sean Anthony, Northport’s old reliable, scored 22 points.

Blackwater went All-Filipino for a second straight game and the Elite lost a second straight game, dropping to 5-3.

Ray Parks led the way with 25 points for Blackwater.
