PBA: Yep, Northport certainly didn’t lose any trades
In their first game with the Batang Pier, the trio were super productive with Ferrer leading the team with 23 points, Mercado adding 14, and Cruz finishing with a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double.

Jervy Cruz, Sol Mercado, and Kevin Ferrer just proved that Northport won the trade with Ginebra for Stanley Pringle.

In their first game with the Batang Pier, the trio were super productive with Ferrer leading the team with 23 points, Mercado adding 14, and Cruz finishing with a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double.

That just proves that Northport didn’t lose any trade despite losing a star in Stanley Pringle.

“Oo syempre, kailangan namin patunayan [na di sila lugi]. Itong game na to, contribute kami na tatlo,” Cruz said.

Reuniting with his former college coach in Pido Jarencio, Cruz has been given new life.

Playing with an imposing frontline in Ginebra, Cruz only saw spot minutes as a Gin King. Now with Northport, the former UAAP MVP is ready to make the most of his new opportunity once again playing for Jarencio.

“Nakakapanibago kasi sa Ginebra, limited lang yung time kasi ang dami namin dun. Para sakin as a player, syempre mas gusto ko yung ginagamit ako,” Cruz said.

“Syempre nakakatuwa kasi coach ko siya nung college tapos kinuha niya ulit ako para makapag-laro sa kanya. Alam niya [Jarencio] laro ko eh,” he added.
