PBA: Olu’s NLEX comeback tour starts with a nice win
Friday in the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup, Olu’s comeback tour finally started as he suited up for NLEX against Rain or Shine, helping the team get a nice win in the mid-season joust.

After his first PBA stint with NLEX ended with a right knee injury, Olu Ashaolu has been looking forward to getting another shot with the Road Warriors.

Friday in the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup, Olu’s comeback tour finally started as he suited up for NLEX against Rain or Shine, helping the team get a nice win in the mid-season joust.

Ashaolu scored a team-high 26 for NLEX in his first game back.

“I’m very eager man, it’s something that I’ve been looking forward to since the injury [last year],” Olu said.

“I’m happy to be back here, the team welcomed me back with open arms so I’m just gonna do my part and try to win as many games as possible,” he added.

Despite the win however, NLEX is only 2-7 for the Commissioner’s Cup and the team’s window for the playoffs is pretty much closed.

However, Ashaolu has always been the Road Warriors’ choice for the season-ending Governors’ Cup and the team is starting it’s prep this early in hopes of having a better showing.

“It always feels good to win, I know the guys haven’t won a lot this conference so it feels good to help the team bring a win,” Ashaolu said.

“I’m very fortunate for that, coach Yeng felt it was best to try and bring me early, kinda like last year. It’s kinda the same team as last year with a few new additions. I’m happy to be here early and get going with the guys,” he added.
