Magnolia's hot streak in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup continues.
The Hotshots travelled south Saturday and handled business against Meralco, taking a 99-88 win at the city coliseum in Zamboanga.
Firing on all cylinders in the first half, the Hotshots gave up a huge run to Meralco in the third only to recover just in time in the fourth quarter, restoring a 20-point lead which was enough for the victory.
The win was Magnolia's fifth straight as they keep solo third place in the team standings with a 5-2 record.
Hometown hero Mark Barroca led the charge for the Hotshots, scoring a team-high 21 points to go along with seven assists.
Import James Farr and Paul Lee were productive as well, adding 19 and 18 points respectively.
Meralco got 35 points from debuting import Delroy James but as per usual this conference, local support was lacking as Chris Newsome was the only other Bolt in double figures with 10.
The Bolts dropped to 3-6 with a fourth straight loss.
