PBA: CJ not satisfied after dominating SMB once again
Perez was Columbian’s top local in the overtime win over the Beermen, scoring 34 points, 14 in the fourth quarter and OT.

Something about playing San Miguel just gets CJ Perez going.

The PBA’s no. 1 rookie for this year has had two games against the Beermen this season. He has had two big games and after Sunday in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, he also has two wins on SMB.

Perez was Columbian’s top local in the overtime win over the Beermen, scoring 34 points, 14 in the fourth quarter and OT.

He shot 68 percent from the field and also added eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

In the clutch when the Dyip needed it most, CJ took over, absolutely dominating  two-time Defensive Player of the Year Chris Ross during one-on-one matchups.

“Kung nasa baba ka ng standings, syempre ma-inspire ka lalo maglaro kasi ayaw mo naman nakikita na lagi kang nasa baba,” Perez said.

“Yung trust ni coach sabi sakin kunin ko bola, yung tiwala niya kailangan suklian ko ng magandang laro or effort,” he added.

This latest win over San Miguel is obviously a big won for Columbian.

However, there’s more work to be done for CJ and the rest of the Dyip. The team is still at 2-6 despite the win.

“Big win para sa Columbian Dyip and gusto namin [instill] yung winning culture sa team, kasi yun ang kulang sa team namin,” Perez said.

“Do ako pwedeng ma-satisfy sa nilar ko, may tatlong games pa kami sana may mabigay pa ako at mai-push [playoffs],” he added.
