PBA: Dominant Jones keeps TNT machine running smoothly

Terrence Jones and TNT cannot be stopped.

Wednesday at the Big Dome, the KaTropa kept first place in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup after blasting Rain or Shine. It was TNT’s sixth straight win in the mid-season joust for an 8-1 record.

Super import Terrence Jones was dominant again, posing a triple-double of 33 points, 21 rebounds, and 12 assists. He also made his presence on the defensive end, getting four steals in two blocks.

More impressive however, was the fact that TNT once again ran like a well-oiled machine and not just a team relying solely on Jones.

“I think it was a great team win, everybody was involved and showed great teamwork,” Jones said.

“Defensively we were getting stops and running in transition. We were keeping our pace offensively, making sure everybody’s getting their shots where they need to,” he added.

As the conference goes on, Jones is taking it upon himself to keep the TNT machine running smoothly.

Jones has put up the points consistently but he’s making sure to keep the rest involved as well. He had 12 assists against the Elasto Painters, his second highest this conference after dishing out 16 dimes against Ginebra a few weeks ago.

“Right now, it’s on me to make sure everybody’s staying involved in the offense. Whether that’s hitting giys for corner threes or finding a big in transition that’s running hard and reward them for that,” Jones said.

“I’m just making sure I do my thing and get everybody involved,” he added.
