PBA: Elorde the hero in Northport return: “Puso na lang”
With the game against Columbian coming down the wire, Elorded ended up drilling three straight triples in the fourth to allow Northport to stay ahead.

Northport can’t catch a break with all its injuries in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The Batang Pier lost Sean Anthony Wednesday against Columbian, but the team did get guard Nico Elorde back.

Elorde, recovering from hamstring issues, ended up being one of Northport’s heroes in the win against the Dyip, pushing the Batang Pier closer to a twice-to-beat advantage with an 8-2 mark.

With the game against Columbian coming down the wire, Elorded ended up drilling three straight triples in the fourth to allow Northport to stay ahead.

He finished with 14 points, all in the second half.

“Puso lang talaga,” Elorde said.

“Medyo nararamdaman ko nga yung hamstring ko pero sabi ko wala eh, kailangan talaga. Cleared naman so kailangan lang ulit yung kumpiyansa ko mabalik,” he added.

With Stanley Pringle now out of Northport, Elorde should see his role expanded as he takes over the point guard spot with Sol Mercado.

As he works his way back from injury, he just wants to be aggressive as he allows himself to regain his rhythm for good.

“Kailangan yung timing lang, sabi niya, yung timing dadating yan, just be aggressive. Noong first half, di gaano maka-shoot pero yung second half, yun, nahulog din,” Elorde said.
