PBA: Mocon has easy enough solution to ROS’ struggles
“We just have to win all of our games to make sure na makapasok kami sa quarterfinals,” Mocon said.

Rain or Shine was the no. 2 seed in the All-Filipino and made it all the way to Game 7 of the semifinals, losing in overtime.

In the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup, the Elasto Painters have struggled quite a bit and the momentum from a strong Philippine Cup campaign is all but gone pretty much.

Following Wednesday’s beating at the hand of TNT, ROS is just 3-5 for the conference and the team has lost three of its last four games.

“It’s really hard kasi everybody’s doing their best,” said rookie Javee Mocon.

“Siguro we’re too relaxed to start. We just have to get back to our groove,” he added.

After a strong All-Filipino showing, ROS added former champion and Best Import Denzel Bowles to the fold.

Bowles has done his part as he’s walking 30-point double-double in the Commissioner’s Cup. However, his imposing presence may have backfired on ROS even for just a little bit.

“Sabi ko we’re too relaxed kasi siguro we have Denzel, he’s a good import. He’s a great import,” Mocon explained.

“Naging complacent kami. We rely on him too much, nawala yung sarili naming confidence,” he added.

At 3-5 and in the lower half of the standings, all is not lost for ROS in the mid-season joust and Mocon offers a pretty easy and straightforward solution for his team.

“We just have to win all of our games to make sure na makapasok kami sa quarterfinals,” Mocon said.
