Columbian just barely kept its playoff hopes alive in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Saturday, beating Phoenix.

The win against the Fuel Masters was made possible because of two plays.

Glenn Khobuntin was reponsible for the first one and Reden Celda came through with the finishing blow.

Celda cashed in on a clutch block by Khobuntin seven seconds prior, nailing a tough floater for Columbian for a 100-98 lead over the Fuel Masters, leaving nine seconds on the clock.

It was a good thing Celda ended up making his shot because head coach Johnedel Cardel was asking for a timeout.

Celda obviously didn’t call no timeouts.

“Sinabi ni coach magta-timeout pala dapat kami pero di ko na nakita,” Celda said.

“Nakita ko kasi open yung lane eh so kung nag-mintis yun di ko alam mangyayari. Nakuha naman yung panalo, yun naman ang importante,” he added.

Missing a few games after getting hurt in Batangas a couple of weeks back, Celda returned with a vengeance.

Celda came off the bench and scored 17 points to go along with four rebounds and seven assists. Columbian is still a longshot to make the playoffs despite the win but they’re going hard regardless.

“Di namin alam kung pasok pa kami o hindi na pero sabi ni coach samin kahit na non-bearing o ano kailangan respeto namin laro so every game pukpok pa rin,” Celda said.
