Columbian once again grinds out a close win.
The Dyip pulled off a shocker Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena, beating Phoenix in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, 100-98.
Tied at 98, the Dyip turned the ball over after Phoenix import stole the ball from no. 1 pick CJ Perez.
Fortunately for Columbian, Glenn Khobuntin hustled back and blocked RJ Jazul’s attempt for a go-ahead layup. Reden Celda then cashed in for a layup of his own on the other end and the Dyip took the lead with about seven seconds to go.
Phoenix got nothing in its final play and Columbian improved to 3-7 in the team standings. The Fuel Masters dropped to 4-5 with the loss.
