“What can you say about Justin? I mean, if that’s not an MJ performance tonight, I’ve never seen an MJ performance,” Cone said of Brownlee.
You think after three years we’ve seen everything from Justin Brownlee?
Well think again.
Ginebra’s super import had his best scoring game in the PBA Sunday, dropping 49 big ones on Magnolia as the defending champion Gin Kings won the first Manila Clasico of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Head coach Tim Cone said it was a Jordanesque performance.
“What can you say about Justin? I mean, if that’s not an MJ performance tonight, I’ve never seen an MJ performance,” Cone said.
Brownlee scored 16 points in the second quarter, 11 in the third, and 14 in the fourth period. Brownlee also had 20 rebounds and seven assists.
For good measure, the reigning Best Import shot 75 percent from the field.
“All the MJ performances that I’ve seen through the years, and I’ll tell you, I watched every Bulls games in tape and at the time, that’s one of MJ’s greatest game right there except with Justin’s body doing the thing,” Cone said.
“It’s really amazing play by him,” he added.
