“Ito yung moments na each player, di lang ako, na gusto mo. Gusto mo maka game-winner. Sa akin, I just want to win. I took the opportunity and yun, na-shoot,” — Robert Bolick.
After his “game-winner” against Columbian only counted becase Dyip import Lester Prosper commited a goal tending violation, Robert Bolick made sure to get a proper lay-up to go in this time around.
Down one Friday against Meralco, the Batang Pier got the ball to their top rookie and Bolick worked his magic, driving strong to the basket for the marginal lay-up in favor of Northport.
He made sure it went in this time.
“Gusto ko lang bumawi,” Bolick said.
“Ito yung moments na each player, di lang ako, na gusto mo. Gusto mo maka game-winner. Sa akin, I just want to win. I took the opportunity and yun, na-shoot,” he added.
With the victory over the Bolts, Northport ended the elimination round with an impressive 9-2 mark.
The Batang Pier still have a chance for the no. 1 spot but regardless of their final ranking, they will enter the quarterfinals with a twice-to-beat edge and a nice fresh win as well.
“Everybody played great, kahit limited minutes lang yung iba, naglalaro kami ng maayos,” Bolick said.
“Gusto lang talaga namin manalo, kasi ito yung stepping stone namin sa playoffs eh. Pangit kung pagpasok namin losing note. Mas maganda yung winning note and then yun, start na kami prepare sa quarters,” he added.
