PBA: Job’s not done even as TNT locks up top seed
By punishing the Magnolia Hotshots Wednesday, the KaTropa have won an eighth straight games and will enter the playoffs as the league’s no. 1 team.

With yet another impressive win, TNT has locked up the no. 1 seed in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup playoffs.

By punishing the Magnolia Hotshots Wednesday, the KaTropa have won eight straight games and will enter the playoffs as the league’s no. 1 team.

A perk of that is that TNT will have a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals against Alaska or Meralco.

A nice winning streak and a no. 1 ranking naturally has the KaTropa happy. However, the job is far from over.

No team gets awarded a title after finishing first in the elimination round.

“Tuwang-tuwa lahat, yung mag coaches pati mga boss,” guard RR Pogo said.

“Pero di pa tapos eh. May quarters pa, semis. Di pa tapos,” he added.

Since taking an early beating at the hands of Northport, who ended up taking the no. 2 seed, TNT has been on a tear.

Behind super import Terrence Jones, the KaTropa have been practically unstoppable in their eight-game run.

That streak should give the team a much-needed boost for the playoffs.

“Siguro dagdag kumpiyansa samin to lalo na papuntang playoffs. Sinusunod lang talaga namin kung ano yung game plan ni coach. Nagbunga naman so sana tuluy-tuloy na to sa playoffs,” Pogoy said.

“Mindset talaga namin kahit anong mangyari, number 1 or number 2, every game talagang nilalaro namin. Yun laging sinasabi ni coach,” he added.
