PBA: Ginebra beats Magnolia in Game 1 of Manila Clasico
Stanley Pringle scored 18 points in his playoff debut for Ginebra and the champion Gin Kings took a 1-0 lead in the Manila Clasico quarters.

Manila Clasico Game 1 goes to Ginebra.

The defending champion Gin Kings managed to hold off Magnolia Saturday in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals, taking an 85-79 win at the MOA Arena.

Tied at 75 late in the fourth quarter, it was Ginebra that made the shots that count for an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series.

The usual suspects were productive for the Gin Kings, including 20 points from import Justin Brownlee and another 18 from Stanley Pringle, who made his playoff debut as a member of the barangay.

Game 2 is set Tuesday at the Big Dome.
