Ray Parks bricked his game-winner, Rey Nambatac did not.

Nambatac drilled a clutch triple late and Rain or Shine stole Game 1 of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals against Blackwater, 83-80, Saturday at the MOA Arena.

Tied at 80 with 10.5 seconds to go, Nambatac shook off Roi Sumang and buried a long three for the lead and eventually, the win.

Nambatac’s shot was the culmination of a late 10-0 run by ROS to take the victory and a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3.

In the previous play, Blackwater had the chance to break the 80-all tie but Ray Parks wasted away the shot clock and bricked a bad mid-range attempt against two defenders. With the Elite down three, Parks also badly missed a final attempt at OT.

Game 2 of the series will be on Tuesday at the Big Dome.
