All eyes on Bobby Ray Parks Jr. for his PBA playoffs debut.
The no. 2 pick of last year’s Draft has helped lead the Elite back to the playoffs. With a strong showing, Blackwater is the no. 3 seed in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, starting a best-of-3 quarterfinals series Saturday.
Ready to challenge the upstart Blackwater crew is Rain or Shine, who despite an up-and-down conference somehow found themselves as a no. 6 seed.
Despite a lower seeding this time compared to the All-Filipino, ROS remains a huge threat. The Elasto Painters boast a deep lineup with weapons at all positions.
However, Rain or Shine’s import Carl Montgomery is a wild card. After replacing the injured Denzel Bowles, he’s had little time to spend with the Elasto Painters and currently has a 1-1 record with the team.
The Elite are no different as they are bringing in Greg Smith to start the playoffs. Smith played for Blackwater before and he was great however, Game 1 of the playoffs is his first game back in the PBA in two years.
Blackwater vs. Rain or Shine, perhaps the most intriguing pairing in the Commissioner’s Cup playoffs to start, will open the quarterfinals Saturday at the MOA Arena at 4:30 p.m.
