The Hotshots are on the brink of elimination but the team will stick with Christmas as import.

After a lackluster debut, Rakeem Christmas has bounced back for Magnolia.

While it was a loss, Christmas posted 18 points and 14 rebounds against Ginebra for Game 1 of the Manila Clasico quarters in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The Hotshots are on the brink of elimination but the team will stick with Christmas as import.

It’s now or never for Magnolia in the Commissioner’s Cup.

“He helps us a lot on rebounding. Sa paint, yung presence niya nandun. So malaking tulong samin yung post presence niya,” head coach Chito Victolero said of Christmas.

“Hopefully on Tuesday mas lalo pa siya makatulong samin on both ends,” he added.

Magnolia replaced James Farr, who had his best game this conference against Ginebra, to put Christmas in place.

The Hotshots can only hope now that Rakeem can continue getting better before it’s too late. There’s simply no more turning back.

“I know it’s a big risk,” Victolero said as Magnolia rolls with Christmas.

“But kailangan namin gawin in order for us na magkaroon ng chance dito. It’s a risk but worth it naman,” he added.
