PBA: Smith guarantees Game 3 win and semis breakthrough

Blackwater import Greg Smith is not afraid to say it, he guarantees that the Elite will win Game 3 of the quarterfinals against Rain or Shine to move on to the semifinals of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Smith delivered a Game 2 win Tuesday, scoring 31 points and grabbing 18 rebounds in a series-tying 100-96 win over the Elasto Painters.

For the deciding Game 3, Smith vows to deliver another dub.

“Do I guarantee? Yes I’m gonna guarantee,” Smith said.

“I’m that confident in my guys. I know that team [ROS] will play hard and give it all they got, they wanna win too. But me personally, I feel like we got it. As long as we play together, play hard and smart, we’ll get this win,” he added.

Coming back to Blackwater after two years to suit up in this playoff run, Smith wants to repay the franchise for giving him a shot in the PBA.

While his only previous experience for a knockout game ended in a loss, he’s confident that that second one will end in a favorable way.

“I’ve played in one do-or-die game my whole life and that was before I came here, it was in Puerto Rico. We lost. I’m very hungry for the game on Thursday. We want it,” Smith said.

“It feels amazing. I’m not gonna lie. I know we were down 0-1, lose and go home. But something was just in me that motivated me to come out and do it for this franchise,” he added.
