PBA: Lassiter out almost two months after knee injury
Star shooter Marcio Lassiter most definitely hurt his knee, which happened Thursday during the Beermen’s quarterfinals clash against Northport in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Good news and bad news for San Miguel Beer

Bad news is that star shooter Marcio Lassiter most definitely hurt his knee, which happened Thursday during the Beermen’s quarterfinals clash against Northport in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The sort of good news is that Marcio will only miss six weeks of play as his injury is officially diagnosed as an MCL sprain, multiple reports, including Spin and PBA broadcaster Paolo del Rosario, confirmed.

However, that also means that Lassiter will miss the remainder of the playoffs. The Beermen start the semifinals Saturday against either Blackwater or Rain or Shine.

Marcio’s recovery timeline will also likely to force him out of Gilas Pilipinas. The Philippine national team heads to China for the 2019 FIBA World Cup and their first game will be at Aug. 31 against Italy.
