PBA: “Super rookie” Mocon helps carry ROS to another semis
Rain or Shine’s prized catch at no. 6 was once again key for the Elasto Painters, providing 15 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in a decisive Game 3 win over Blackwater to move on to the semifinals of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The top-3 picks of the 2018 PBA Draft have lived up to expectations.

However, one rookie has been consistently good all season for an actual contender and his name is Javee Mocon.

Rain or Shine’s prized catch at no. 6 was once again key for the Elasto Painters, providing 15 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in a decisive Game 3 win over Blackwater to move on to the semifinals of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

If the Elasto Painters are to keep advancing in these playoffs, they’ll need Mocon to keep producing especially since ROS has San Miguel Beer in the semifinals.

“Feeling ko super rookie to si Mocon,” head coach Caloy Garcia said.

“He's been really great, I hope he can do well in the next round para based on his experience, he can try to carry us also,” he added.

ROS is the underdog against San Miguel but the Elasto Painters played the Beermen tough in their previous meeting this confence.

They fell short that time and for the semis, the Elasto Painters will have to change things up.

“It's gonna be a difficult task. We just have to watch what we did right against them when we played out of town,” Garcia said.

“But we know at this stage right now they have a huge advantage over us. We just have to figure out ways to win,” he added.
