“Once a full and appropriate legal procedure of these allegations is conducted, the team will assess the situation further and decide Calvin’s fate with the team,” Phoenix said in a statement.
Phoenix has spoken up regarding the latest troubles of its suspended star in Calvin Abueva.
Over the weekend, some unfortunate developments have surfaced as Calvin’s wife Sam, pregnant for 32 weeks, accused her husband of abuse and infidelity via Instagram.
Calvin, using a new Instagram account, denied all accusartions but Sam appears to be set on having his husband thrown in jail for his actions.
In a statement Tuesday, Phoenix said that the team is “deeply saddened” over the latest developments surrounding Calvin.
“Claims of domestic violence and neglect have no place in our team,” the statement read.
“Once a full and appropriate legal procedure of these allegations is conducted, the team will assess the situation further and decide Calvin’s fate with the team,” the Fuel Masters added.
Phoenix says its provided support to Calvin, even if Abueva has been unresponsive and has been absent just before these latest issues surfaced.
The Fuel Masters also remain commited to assist the Abueva family but the team made it clear that Calvin has responsibility is sorting out his own troubles.
“As an organization, Phoenix does not stand for any form of violence or other behaviors that violate the trust and values we have in common with the entire Phoenix family,” the statement read.
“The responsibility and cure for this behavior rests with Calvin. He can step up and accept responsibility for his actions and take responsibility for his recovery - it is his choice,” the team added.
