“Binibiro niya kasi ako, take one more sabi niya sakin. Sabi ko later. “Nataon, tsaka crucial pa di ba? Masaya lang, thankful,” Belga said of the Blatche exchange.
After Beau Belga first hit a clutch triple withh 3:45 to go in Game 3 of the Commissioner’s Cup semifinals against San Miguel Wednesday, his Gilas Pilipinas teammate Andray Blatche asked him to shoot one more.
Beau said he’ll take one later.
Later came with 11 seconds left in regulation and ROS holding on to a three-point lead while facing elimination.
Belga shook off June Mar Fajardo in a rare showdown outside the three-point arc and Beau hit another booming triple, this time to give the Elasto Painters a 110-104 lead which would later turn into a 112-104 Game 3 victory to extend the series.
He finished with 16 points, 13 in the second half, to go along with seven rebounds and six assists.
“Binibiro niya kasi ako, take one more sabi niya sakin. Sabi ko later,” Belga said of the Blatche exchange.
“Nataon, tsaka crucial pa di ba? Masaya lang, thankful,” he addded.
Belga celebrated the clutch hit with a gun-firing celebration.
He said he didn’t care who it was for but Belga made sure it wasn’t for Blatche or for anyone who’s a ROS ally.
“Kahit sino, kung sino tamaan bahala sila dun. Di ko naman babarilin mga kasama ko tsaka mga fans namin eh,” Belga said.
“Kung sino tamaan sa kalaban bahala sila. Wala naman, it’s just like a heated game, dagger. So yun yung trademark [celebration] nilabas lang ulit sa baul, tinago ko eh. Next game ulit, dadalhin ko sa maleta,” Beau added.
