“Next game, kung 70 score niya okay lang... basta two points ang iba,” Beau Belga on SMB import Chris McCullough
San Miguel import Chris McCullough went off Wednesday night, scoring a PBA career-high 51 points in Game 3 of the Commissioner’s Cup semifinals against Rain or Shine.
However, the Beermen lost and ROS is suddenly in the series after cutting its deficit in half, 1-2.
For the remainder of the series, starting with a crucial Game 4, the Elasto Painters are fine with McCullough’s scoring explosions as long as they win.
That’s the trade-off ROS is willing to make.
“Kung umiskor yung isang tao na ganun and limited iba, okay lang samin. Di naman kayang talunin ng isang tao yung lima eh,” forward Beau Belga said after they gave up 51 to San Miguel’s import.
“Ang kagandahan, di pumutok si Chris Ross, si June Mar limited. Sinolo nung import, solohin niya na lang ulit next game para masaya,” he added.
San Miguel Game 2 hero Chris Ross was limited to just six points in Game 3. Five-time MVP June Mar Fajardo also struggled, scoring only eight points.
In fact, after McCullough, only two SMB locals were in double figures. ROS had five players score at least 11.
“Kung score siya [McCullough] ng 60 tapos panalo kami, salamat ulit. Yun na naman yun eh, you need to involve everybody,” Belga said.
“Next game, kung 70 score niya okay lang... basta two points ang iba,” he added.
