Jayson Castro played a brilliant game Thursday as no. 1 TNT dethroned Ginebra in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals.
The Blur scored 20 points but, Castro had troubles from deep, making only one shot in four tries.
However, Castro’s only three-point connection was huge as the Blur cashed in on a booming triple to end the shot clock with 3:50 to go, giving TNT a 99-86 lead.
That was in essence, the dagger to end this series and his teammates celebrated is as such.
For his part, Castro says he saw one second on the clock and just made sure to let the shot fly.
He really had no other choice. Good thing it went in.
“Buti na-shoot. Parang yun lang na-shoot ko this game na three points kasi binabantayan nila yung outside shot ko. May kasamang swerte rin siguro,” he added.
