PBA: Comebacks slowly wearing down SMB says Ross

“It’s hard, man. It’s hard to battle back,” Ross said as SMB has trailed by double digits for three straight games in the Commissioner’s Cup semifinals.
For three games in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals against Rain or Shine, San Miguel Beer has been down double digits very early in each of them.
In Game 1, the Beermen were down 13. In Game 2, San Miguel was trailing by 29 in the first half.
In both games, the Beermen were able to pull off comebacks to score stunning wins.
But in Game 3, while San Migel erased an 18-point deficit in the second quarter, they just ran out of gas in the end and all of a sudden, the Elasto Painters are back in this series instead of the Beermen sweeping their way to another Finals.
“I don’t know what’s going on,” guard Chris Ross said.
“We changed our lineup, same thing. We just can’t let that happen,” he added as San Miguel continues to fall behind big.
The first two wins for a 2-0 lead were certainly impressive for the Beermen.
However, that’s not the ideal way to win. Sooner or later, ROS will figure things out and in Game 3, the Elasto Painters finally closed a win out.
Now it’s up to San Miguel to figure out how not to start each game trailing.
“It’s hard, man. It’s hard to battle back,” Ross said.
“We used so much energy fighting back. Hopefully we can fix that going into Game 4 and give ourselves a better chance to be fresh at the end of the game,” he added.
