PBA: As clutch bullets run out, Nambatac still proud of ROS
“Para sakin masasabi ko di ko araw. Ganun talaga, wala namang perpekto sa basketball eh. Nagmi-miss ka talaga,” Nambatac said.

Rey Nambatac has been clutch all conference long for Rain or Shine.

The Elasto Painters’ two wins against Blackwater in the Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals wouldn’t have been possible if not for Nambatac’s crunch-time shooting.

But in Game 4 of the semifinals against San Miguel Beer, Rey finally ran out of bullets and he missed what would have been a game-tying triple for ROS late.

San Miguel ended up winning, 98-95, to move on to the Finals with a 3-1 semis victory.

“Para sakin masasabi ko di ko araw. Ganun talaga, wala namang perpekto sa basketball eh. Nagmi-miss ka talaga,” Nambatac said.

“Imagine wide open na yun, pero di talaga pumasok. Hindi para samin. Para sakin, gagawin ko na lang siya as a positive na motivation,” he added.

Despite the semis loss and missing out on the PBA Finals, Nambatac says ROS is in no sour mood.

They still made the semifinals, which is the second time this season.

“Hindi naman galit si coach. Even our management eh, tuwang-tuwa nga sa pinakita namin kasi talagang alam naman nila, from coaches to management, na talagang lumaban kami sa game na to,” Nambatac said.

“Para sakin, proud din ako sa mga teammates ko dahil pinakita lang namin yung pagiging matapang namin na hindi kami sumuko,” he added.
