In Game 2 of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals Wednesday, Chris McCullough only had 32 seconds of rest in an intense showdown that needed two overtimes to finish.
McCullough led all players and clocked in at 57 minutes and 28 seconds.
Naturally, he was spent. After the win, McCullough could do nothing but sit at the Araneta Coliseum hallway.
Guy needed some time to breathe.
“Oh my God, I’m tired,” McCullough said.
“I can’t explain. I’ve never played 57 minutes before. But we got the win,” he added.
In the end, the win is what matters. With the double-overtime decision, the Beermen have tied the Finals at one game each.
They would have been in trouble if they headed to Game 3 down 0-2.
“The game of basketball, you gotta finish. That’s what we did,” McCullough, who scored a team-high 32 points and 22 rebounds, said after the Game 2 victory.
“We’re preparing for another tough game [Game 3], a dogfight. We just gotta go out there and do everything we gotta do to get the win,” he added.
