Arwind Santos scored a grand total of one point in Game 2 of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup but he still had something juicy to say about the win.
Because of course he does.
Arwind’s “Hand of God” shot was absent in Game 2 against TNT but the Beermen still got some clutch shots courtesy of their other star players, in particular Terrence Romeo.
Romeo scored on a booming triple late in regulation that allowed San Miguel Beer to actually force the first overtime of the game.
“Buti na-shoot ng ka-FEU ko, ni roommate, si Terrence. Nakakatuwa naman. Maganda rin yung nilaro niya,” Arwind said of Romeo’s gutsy game-tying triple.
“Yung side na yun, FEU pa rin naman ang nag-panalo, masaya na ako doon,” Santos added.
The Game 2 win was crucial for the Beermen in this series but San Miguel still got some room to improve.
San Miguel lost a 17-point lead and had the burden to force each of the two overtimes.
But while the game ended in a marathon, it was a treat to everyone and the Beermen were able to identify some immediate things to work on while not losing. That’s always good.
“Parehong lumalaban hanggang sa dulo. Ang sarap noong game, nag-enjoy kami,” Arwind said.
“Pero kapag natalo kami doon, parang medyo nakakahiya nang kaunti kasi wala na ngang Terrence Jones, matatalo pa kami. Medyo nakakahiya yun. Mabuti na lang kahit papaano nanalo kami. Pero makikita mo, ang dami pa naming [kailangan] adjustments, kasi wala na nga yung Terrence Jones, muntik pa kaming matalo,” he added.
