The mind games between Terrence Jones and the San Miguel Beermen are officially on.
With the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup championship on the line, it appears that the Beermen are ready to do anything just to get under the skin of Jones, TNT’s uber-talented import.
Seriously, whatever it takes to win on the part of SMB.
“One of the players kept talking about my Instagram,” Jones revealed after Sunday’s Game 2, which the Beermen won in double overtime.
“And I was like okay you follow me on Instagram, that's cool bro,” he added.
It’s hard to validate Jones’ anecdote considering he didn’t name the alleged SMB player that got creative with his mind games.
However, it seems like whatever the Beermen are trying to do is working even just a little bit.
In the first overtime of Game 2, Jones was ejected after two technical fouls. The second came after a second motion hit dropped Chris Ross to the floor.
Still, Jones says he’s not bothered by the antics and adds that there’s only one mind game San Miguel can play on him.
“You know, funny, and I don't really care about any of that. Like I said, I'm here to try to win a championship so the only mind game they can play with me is winning four games before I do,” Jones said.
“I don't think I'm gonna let that happen,” he added.
