PBA: Back from Macau, Beermen start Grand Slam bid

San Miguel Beer will start its Grand Slam bith with Dez Wells against Phoenix (0-1).
After competing in the East Asia Super League’s the Terrific 12 tournament last week, it’s back in the PBA for San Miguel Beer, TNT, and Blackwater.
All three teams debut in the 2019 Governors’ Cup Wednesday with the KaTropa starting things off with a 4:30 p.m. showdown against the Elite.
TNT played a solid Terrific 12 in Macau, losing a close game to eventual champion Liaoning before beating Niigata Albirex of Japan. The KaTropa will feature former Houston Rocket KJ McDaniels as import.
Blackwater didn’t exactly impress in Macau, losing two games by a combined 56 points. The Elite will go with Marqus Blakely as reinforcement.
In the second game at 7:00 p.m., San Miguel Beer will start its Grand Slam bith with Dez Wells against Phoenix (0-1).
The Beermen placed 4th in the Terrific 12, also losing to Liaoning in the semifinals.
