After a solid Terrific 12 tournament in Macau last week, TNT was ready to unleash KJ McDaniels in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Following the KaTropa’s first game in the season-ending conference Wednesday at the Big Dome, McDaniels was unleashed alright.
KJ dominated for 41 points, 22 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and five blocks in his debut outing for TNT and the KaTropa crushed Blackwater by 28 points for a 1-0 start.
“I felt like that was a good confidence boost for me,” McDaniels said of the Terrific 12 where TNT finished with a respectable 1-1 record.
“The coaches as well and my teammates, having confidence in me. I just gotta keep finding ways to keep getting better, make my teammates better and being impactful in the game,” he added.
With such a dominant win, McDaniels says he and the KaTropa can only get better.
The former Houston Rocket certainly has a lot of room to grow after all, he did turn the ball over nine times against Blackwater.
It was the only blemish to an otherwise flawless opening performance.
“It was a great game, I felt good being out there with my teammates,” McDaniels said.
“I feel like we’ll just get better from here on out,” he added.
