TNT just regained a share of first place in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup Wednesday with a win over Phoenix Pulse.
The KaTropa shot 18/30 from deep to take down the Fuel Masters, 123-118.
However, TNT head coach Bong Ravena is not quite satisfied for the simple fact that they gave up 118 points to Phoenix.
“Di kami pwede maglaro ng ganun. 118 points. Our defense was not good,” Ravena said.
“Offensively andun lang eh. Kailangan talaga magiging consistent ka sa depensa eh. You have to make stops, you cannot give away 118 points a game,” he added.
Ravena says that the goal is to always limit opponents to under 100 points.
If TNT gives another defensive performance like that in the future, the KaTropa could be in for a rough outing according to Ravena.
“At least less than 100. Over 100, medyo wala kang tatalunin na malalakas na team niyan,” he said.
“Syempre yung basis mo San Miguel, di pwedeng ganun yung depensa. Tatambakan kami nun. Buti na lang mga locals stepped up,” Ravena added.
