So far, so good in San Miguel Beer's Grand Slam chase.
The Beermen are 2-0 with impressive back-to-back victories over Phoenix and Alaska.
San Miguel now makes an early play for first place as they take on another unbeaten team in NLEX as the 2019 Governors' Cup makes a stop in Dubai this weekend.
The Road Warriors are tied for first place with a 3-0 mark.
"Both teams have their own agenda, na hindi mawala sa itaas ng standings man lang," head coach Leo Austria said as his Beermen prepare to take on NLEX at 8:00 p.m. Friday in Dubai (12:00 a.m. Saturday in Manila).
In battling the conference's early leader, it's a good indicator on where San Miguel is exactly in the title race.
The same goes for NLEX. It wouldn't be wrong to say that this clash between the Beermen and the Road Warriors is an absolute must see.
"Gustong malaman ng bawa't isang team kung nasaan na siya as far as making a run for the title is concerned," Austria said.
"This game should be a good gauge," he added.
