In his fourth conference with Meralco, the goal is still the same for Allen Durham.
Said goal is to win a title.
In his previous three stints with the Bolts, Durham has certainly come close, making the Finals twice and despite staring at six straight knockout games last year, still somehow made it to the semifinals.
“Our no. 1 goal is to make it to the playoffs, then once we get there, win the championship,” Durham said.
“But we just gotta take it one game at a time, anybody can beat anybody in this league so we don’t wanna look too far ahead,” he added.
At 3-1 for the conference, the Bolts are already off to a better start in the 2019 Governors’ Cup compared to last season.
It’s actually the team’s best start all year after winning just a combined seven games in the Philippine Cup and the Commissioner’s Cup.
“We know last year we put ourselves in a tough hole. So this year, we’re trying to put ourselves in a better position,” Durham said.
“If we’re fortunate to make it to the playoffs, we don’t have to work as hard [to get in] or we get a higher seed,” he added.
