PBA: TNT keeps first place with close win over Northport

TNT barely keeps solo first in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup.
The KaTropa had to work for their win Wednesday, earning a tough 103-100 win over Northport at the Cuneta Astrodome.
With the Batang Pier charging in the second half, TNT had to steal the victory in the fourth behind Troy Rosario, Jayson Castro, and import KJ McDaniels.
TNT improved to 5-0 for the conference and after this win, the KaTropa have now beaten all PBA teams this season. They were 0-2 to Northport prior to Wednesday.
The Batang Pier dropped to 1-4 for the conference with four straight losses.
McDaniels led the way for TNT, scoring 12 of his total of 30 points in the fourth quarter. He also had 18 rebounds and five assists.
Four locals scored in doubled figures with Rosario finishing with 22 points and RR Pogoy good for 17. Jayson Castro and Don Trollano contributed 10 each.
Garvo Lanete was the high man for the Batang Pier with 24 points.
