TNT may have just truly unleashed KJ McDaniels.

The KaTropa overcame a slow start Saturday to turn down Meralco in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup, taking a 116-113 win at the Big Dome.

McDaniels shot 68 percent and scored 51 points, leading TNT’s comeback from 19 down. He also had 10 rebounds and four blocks in the win.

With the victory, the KaTropa are still in solo first place with a 6-0 record and an early playoff berth.

After McDaniels, RR Pogoy scored 23 and Jayson Castro had 21 as TNT overcame a 16-point first quarter by dropping 100 the rest of the way.

Meralco saw its three-game run snapped with the loss and dropped to 3-2 in the team standings.

Two-time Best Import Allen Durham led the Bolts with 43 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists, but his final three to send the game in overtime barely missed the mark.
