TNT just unleased KJ McDaniels Saturday in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup.
McDaniels went off against the Meralco Bolts, shooting 68 percent for 51 points.
The former Houston Rocket led TNT’s comeback from 19 down to stun Meralco, who had 43 points from former two-time Best Import Allen Durham.
“It was great game, they came out punching at us, and we just had to stay together and we pulled out the W,” McDaniels said.
“I think that might be my first [50-point game]. I just wanna keep getting better, keep making my teammates better. I don’t really go out there to score, I just go out there do what I need to do to help the team,” he added.
With yet another close win, TNT kept its hold of first place with a perfect 6-0 record.
Six wins also means that the KaTropa are first to the playoffs of the 2019 Governors’ Cup.
“I’m proud of my teammates, they’re the reason why we’re here, we’re a whole team,” McDaniels, who also had 10 rebounds and four blocks in the win, said.
“We just have to capitalize, stay positive, go to the film and watch what we need to do better. Keep rolling from there,” he added.
